Up Close, and Personal
The moment I discovered my athletic potential…
Age 12, Playing basketball and didn’t stop for 8 years straight.
The most memorable moment of my sporting career so far…
Being associated with Nike as one of their Most Senior Coaches in India. Finishing my 10km race despite showing up late to the race and finishing my PB of 51:26 seconds.
I nourish my soul with…
natural, food, sleep, music and running.
Unived helps me by…
by supporting me to fine tune my nutrition, so I can recover and perform better. Unived products are easy to digest, are absorbed readily which puts lesser stress on the body.
I have chosen to associate with Unived because…
their pro-activeness in widening the scope of their products, the quality of their products.
To me, sport stands for…
empowering myself.
My idea of an effective training session is…
to be in “flow state” – realistic challenge, focus, creativity, clarity of goals or the process of that training session, not rushed-not tardy either. Learning curve is significant.
My training sanctuary is…
outdoors and my inner state of mind : Park, mud tracks, jungle gym bars, free weights like kettlebell, a mat. Calm, focused, in flow state. Inside matters more than outside.
The three biggest lessons I have learnt so far in my athletic career…
1. Hard work / smart work or lack of it: Body never lies.
2. Patience means to understand and respect rest and recovery equally as much as training.
3. You use it or lose it: Never take skills / strength / capacity that you built up once for granted.
The toughest match of my life was…
showing up for my last 10km race fifteen min late. Ran from the parking lot itself. Had no intra-run hydration or fuel, HR was through the roof. Still clocked my PB.
